Seepshila gives college students an integrated, hands-on learning experience: practical bootcamps, career counseling, industry-specific training, internships and entrepreneurship development. It is a social initiative of Iraa Ventures.
In Nepal's fast-moving IT industry, academic knowledge alone is not enough. Students need hands-on skills, exposure to real work and guidance to choose a direction. Seepshila was set up to give them all three, without asking them to leave their studies or pay for the privilege.
Three partners, one pathway
Seepshila links three partners. Colleges host credit-linked courses and send students into the program. Industry defines the skills it needs, hosts interns and offers placements. Iraa Ventures counsels, trains, mentors and coordinates.
For a student, the journey looks like this:
- Credit sessions during the semester break or on Sundays.
- Career counseling, in a group and one-on-one, to choose a track.
- Three months of training in that track.
- A three-month internship with an industry partner.
- Placement, offered by the industry partner to students who perform well.
Final-year project mentorship runs alongside, for groups of five, and strong projects may be co-funded toward a startup or a market-ready product.
Three principles
- Credit linkage: learning is tied to the university syllabus, so students earn credit while they gain skills.
- Zero net cost to students: the training fee is returned at the end of training.
- Industry-defined skills: partners state the skills they need, and training is built around them.
What happens next
We are meeting colleges and employers now, mapping courses to university syllabi and agreeing schedules, intern numbers and placement terms. Then we launch: credit sessions and counseling first, followed by training, internships and project mentorship.
If you're a student, a college or an employer and you'd like to take part, get in touch.
